Karim Traïdia

Karim Traïdia (in Arabic: كريم ترايديا) born in 1949 in Besbes in Algeria is an Algerian-Dutch director and screenwriter. He has worked in the Netherlands since 1980. He studied sociology in Paris and cinema at the NFTVA, the Dutch Film Academy of Amsterdam, from which he graduated. His graduation film Impotence won several awards in Europe. He directed several short films before signing his first feature film, The Polish Bride, in 1998, presented at the "Critics' Week" at the Cannes Film Festival the same year and he won the Golden Calf for Best Director in other prestigious awards. Truth Tellers, his second feature film, also won numerous awards. Chroniques de mon village (Chronicles of My Village), in 2016, is his third feature film.
